Omniscope DataPlayers - new from version 2.4

DataPlayers bring documents and web pages to life.

 

DataPlayers are innovative combinations of data, images, maps, and interactive filters in standard Flash .SWF files that can be exported from Omniscope to documents and web pages. Although Flash-based DataPlayers cannot scale up to contain millions of rows (as Omniscope .IOK/.IOM files can) DataPlayers can contain many thousands of rows of data. Using Omniscope Professional and Enterprise Editions, you can now export data, images and maps as interactive DataPlayers that almost everyone can interact with in both documents and web pages.

What do they look like?

Omniscope Professional and Enterprise Editions allow you to make many different types of DataPlayers, all totally configurable to match the design of your documents and web pages. Extend the reach of your data by converting data tables, images and maps into DataPlayers- interactive Flash inserts for documents (PowerPoint, Acrobat .PDF, Excel etc.) and web pages. How do I make them?

From version 2.4, the new DataPlayer View available in Omniscope Professional provides all the tools you need to create, refine and export as many different types of DataPlayers as your audience will find useful. Creating and exporting DataPlayers from Omniscope working files is simple- no commands or programming skills are required.

• Use Omniscope to import data from spreadsheets or directly from databases (ODBC/JDBC)
• Choose from six view types, including offline vector, scanned or online zooming Google Maps
• Configure to match any document/web page- set orientation, sizes, colours, choose skins, etc.
• Publish on any page of documents, reports, presentations, or on any web page...just like a picture!
• Don't have a website? Post your DataPlayer to one we host, then e-mail the link to your audience

How do I update them?

Once you have defined a DataPlayer, the data inside can be refreshed, and new, updated DataPlayer .SWF files generated from your saved Omniscope .IOK/.IOM project file with just a few clicks. Refreshing the data and distributing new DataPlayers can be done from your desktop Omniscope installation, or fully automated using the tools available in Omniscope Enterprise Edition, which includes full DataPlayer functionality.
